I fall to pieces Each time I see you again I fall to pieces How can I be just your friend
You want me to act Like we've never kissed You want me to forget Pretend we've never met And I try and I try But I haven't yet You walk by and I fall to pieces
I fall to pieces Each time someone speaks your name I fall to pieces Time only acts to the play
Town and Country Jamboree, Washington DC (1956)
You tell me to find someone else to love Someone who loves me too The way you used to do But each time I go out with someone new You walk by and I fall to pieces You walk by and I fall to pieces
Patsy Cline at Winchester's WINC Radio (1956) Patsy performed from this station many times
Early in 1961, Patsy Cline and her brother were involved in a head-on car crash in Nashville that sent Patsy through the windshield, nearly killing her. While recuperating in the hospital, Patsy tuned in to a live radio broadcast one night and heard a new singer named Loretta Lynn singing her hit, "I Fall to Pieces." Loretta had dedicated the song to Patsy Cline and wished her well. Touched, Patsy sent her husband to the broadcast to fetch this young singer and bring her back for an introduction. It would be the beginning of a lifelong friendship.
