Lonesome Cowboy (Words & music by Sid Tepper - Roy C. Bennett) I am just a lonesome cowboy Just beyond the mountain lies a city Ride. Ride, ride, ride along cowboy Will I ever leave this lonesome valley I am just a lonesome cowboy Then I知 never coming home "Charro" is a serious Western - not a comedy - and Elvis doesn't sing Courtesy of Elvis Tribute .US Heavens Gates Divisions

And I知 travelling all alone
I ain't even got a nickel
To call my baby on the phone
And I hear it calling me
Saddle up and ride you lonesome cowboy
Here is where you'll find your destiny
In my dreams the lights shine bright and pretty
Near to me and yet so far
Will I always be a lonesome cowboy
Am I only reaching for a star
Sing, sing, sing, sing a song cowboy
Really see the lights that shine
Gotta find what lies beyond the mountain
Gotta rope and tie that dream of mine
And I知 travelling all alone
If you don't call me baby
Then I知 never coming home

Elvis Movie "Charro" (1969
a song except for the title tune that is heard over the opening titles.
Elvis plays Jess Wade, a former member of a criminal gang, who has now
turned his back to his past and is on good track. The gang members won't
let go of him that easy though, branding his neck and making him to be
falsely accused of stealing a Mexican war cannon.
Elvis tries to make things right.
