Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm tired, I知 weak, I知 lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near When my light is almost gone Hear my cry, hear my call Hold my hand lest I fall Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near And the day is past and gone At the river I stand Guide my feet, hold my hand Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand Lead me on, let me stand I'm tired, I知 weak, I知 lone Through the storm, through the night Lead me on to the light Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Along with international popularity during the 1950s and 1960s, gospel record sales soared, a Chicago-based television show thrived, and many all-gospel radio stations emerged.
Many of the biggest stars from other styles of music had huge hits with recordings of gospel songs. Red Foley sang Thomas Andrew Dorsey's "Peace in the Valley" at Hank Williams's funeral in 1953 and later had a hit with the recording. Elvis Presley would top Foley's success in gospel music when he recorded two of Dorsey songs, "Peace in the Valley" and "Precious Lord, Take My Hand," on his album "Peace in the Valley" 1957
