His Eye Is On The Sparrow Ethel Waters Written in 1905 by Civilla D. Martin and Charles H. Gabriel Lyrics listed in Public Domain
(I sing because I’m happy,) (I sing because I’m free,) (For His eye is on the sparrow,) (And I know He watches me.)
So why should I feel discouraged, Or why should the shadows come, Why should my heart be lonely, Away from heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion My constant friend is He: For his eye is on the sparrow, And I know He watches me; His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
So I sing because I’m happy, Oh yes I sing because I’m free, For His eye is on on the sparrow, And children I know, How I know, that He watches me. And I know that He watches me.
